Documentation for PSU Writing Center

The Writing Center is free to all PSU (Pittsburg State University) students. They encourage appointments; however, walk-ins are welcome on a first come first served basis. Recently, I was asked to create three documents for the Writing Center at Pittsburg State University: an intake summary, a tri-fold brochure, and a flyer.

As the Writing Center follows the PSU rubric for Writing across the Curriculum, it needs a new intake summary. The directors desire the intake summary include specific information about each tutoring session, but more specifically, how the tutor applies the PSU Writing Rubric during any given tutoring session.

Intake Summary

The tri-fold brochure and flyer have a very different target audience than the formal intake summary. Their audience consists of stressed out college students whom have to crank out very difficult papers at various levels of academic competencies for various courses.

The budget for production of the brochure is low, therefore, requiring a black and white only design. I chose to use cartoon graphics and casual tone to convey the message of a casual, helpful, relaxing atmosphere.
